Red, Blue and Yellow Colour Challenge

The last week of a month is usually Challenge week at Maymay Made It and this week’s challenge was to only use the colours Red, Blue and Yellow. This obviously meant that I couldn’t use even White card stock or Black ink, and since I use them in most of my cards (almost all 😋), it was quite a challenge to come up with a card idea. But, I must say it was fun and I loved every bit of it. Challenges compel me to think out of the box and come up with ideas I probably wouldn’t attempt making otherwise, which is why I always look forward to such challenges. I have been wanting to make a quilled card but I keep procrastinating and this time I decided to add another challenge for me by making a quilled card. Along with the quilling essentials, I used the Jar of Fun and From All of us stamp set by Maymay Made it.

I used a light blue cardstock for the background and dabbed Salty Ocean Distress Ink on it using a Nuvo Blending brush to give it a texture.

After that, I stamped the Mason Jar on a light blue vellum using VersaMark Ink, sprinkled Blue Tang embossing powder by Wow, dusted off the excess and then heat set it with my heat tool. I also stamped and embossed the tag and sentiment on a light blue cardstock using the same process. I then fussy cut the images and stuck the tag on the jar. Since I wanted the jar to have a 3D look, I stuck it only in the middle behind the tag. The tag I used is from the same set as the Mason Jar, but the sentiment is from the Maymay Made it From All Of Us stamp set.

For the flowers and fillers, I used different shades of red, yellow and blue quilling strips. I wanted to make different flowers, and so I learned quite a lot of techniques while doing this challenge. I decided to add Nuvo drops for the centres of these flowers and so I put them on my Ranger non-stick craft mat and let them dry overnight. Once they were dry, I removed them from the mat and stuck them on the flowers using Art Glitter Glue. Then, I stuck all the quilled pieces on the card stock. I also stuck a few Sea Breeze Jewel Drops all around the card because I like how they dry translucent and appear like droplets of water.

As a final step, I stuck the card stock to a dark blue card base and I completed my challenge.❤️

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
