AAA Cards Challenge #187 – Two Quarters
Hello and welcome to my blog, my crafty friends. We have a new challenge at the AAA Cards Blog, and the theme for challenge #187 is Two Quarters + Optional Twist Rainbow.
Katrina is the Guest Designer for this challenge. You can click here to visit her blog and see her adorable card.
I started by stamping multiple images of the flower outline from the Build-A-Flower: Coneflower Layering Stamp & Die Set on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. For the rest of the layers, I used Crisp Dye inks. Below are the colours I used:
Flowers:
1st Layer – Fresh Lemon
2nd Layer – Orange Cream
3rd Layer – Vineyard Berry and Jet Black
Centre of the flower:
1st Layer – Firefly and Shadow Creek
2nd Layer – Hunter Green and Jet Black
Leaves:
1st Layer – Firefly and Shadow Creek
2nd Layer – Hunter Green and Jet Black
Next, I die cut these images using the coordinating die.
After that, I masked an A2 card base using memo tape. To add the remaining colours of the rainbow to my card, I inked the clouds using Tide Blue, Hydrangea and Azurite Crisp Inks along with the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and my ink blending tools. I then smooshed the Azurite ink pad on my media mat and splattered it on the panel using a round brush.
I inked the lower portion of the card panel using Firefly and Just Green Crisp Inks. Then I splattered Emerald watercolour on it. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Wild Flora Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Lastly, I assembled the card using precision glue.
