Let It Shine

Welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! I made this card for the Let It Shine Course by Altenew Academy. In this course, Carissa Wiley shows many ways to add shimmer and sparkle to your cards. I used the techniques from Lesson 2 – Embossing powder class.

For this card, I used the Pen Sketch Mandala Stamp Set. I started by cutting a piece of Cherry Premium cardstock to 4 * 5 1/2 inches using my trimmer. Since I wanted to emboss only half of the image, I masked the other half of the cardstock using Memo Tape. Then I placed the Mandala stamp on my Misti and prepped the cardstock using an embossing bag to remove any static. After that, I inked the stamp using VersaMark ink and stamped it on the cardstock. I then sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and dusted off the excess. Then I gently removed the memo tape and heat set the embossed image with my heat gun.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using VersaMark ink. Then I sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and heat set it.

After that, I went over the edges of the cardstock with Ruby Red Crisp Ink and a blender brush. Next, I cut a strip of red cardstock and embossed it using gold embossing powder. I then stuck this strip behind the card panel. Lastly, I stuck this card panel on an A2 card base using liquid glue.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.

  1. This is such a classy looking card! It’s beautiful. Love the partial stamping and the way you have fit the sentiment beautifully. The inking on the edges adds to the dramatic effect. Well done.
Thank you for entering your gorgeous work to the AECP assignment gallery.
