Flowers are like friends

Welcome to my blog, my crafty friends. For day 1 and 2 of the Daily Marker Challenge, I coloured the Foxglove flower image from the Wild Flowers Stamp Set by Isabel Cristina.

The below photograph that I had clicked a few years back was my inspiration for this card.

First, I printed the image on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and fussy cut it with my cutter bee scissors. Then I used my Copic Markers to colour it.

Below are the colours I used:
Flowers – R11, R02, R000, YR31, Y02, Y00, 0
Leaves and stem – G28, G17, G14, YG11

I then added details on the image using the below Polychromos:
Flowers – 104, 131, 117, 118, 132, 225, 101
Leaves and stem – 267, 278, 171

To create the background, I used an A2 watercolour cardstock by Altenew and used a size 2 round brush to apply clean water on one side. Next, I used Limeade, Mountain Mist and Emerald Watercolour brush pens to add colour to the cardstock. Then I tilted the panel to let the colour flow through the wet surface of the cardstock. Once I was happy with the background, I splattered all three colours on the card panel.

After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Wild Flora Stamp Set by Altenew using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Lastly, I stuck the flower image on this panel using foam tape and stuck this card panel on an A2 card base using art glitter glue.

I am linking this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge – Bright and Cheerful and The Flower Challenge – Summer/Winter.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.

  1. I can definitely see your inspiration from that gorgeous photo, your colouring of the flower is incredible!!! It looks so real and love how you added the dots and details, really brought it to life. And your water coloured background mimics that photograph background beautifully. Im so very happy you shared this card with us at The Flower Challenge!!
