Elements of Floral Composition

Hello there! Welcome to my blog! Today I would like to share a card I made for the Elements of Floral Composition Course by Altenew Academy. I have been a fan of Jaycee Gaspar for a while now. He is so talented and creative and I am very glad I got to learn from him. This class is full of information on how to make your floral cards stand out. I definitely recommend this class to every crafter who loves to make floral cards. Though I am sure this class will help you with your non-floral cards as well.

I used the colours from the Altenew March Challenge picture as my inspiration for this card.

First, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Grateful Heart Stamp Set using Crisp Dye Inks. I stamped the outline layer using Obsidian Pigment Ink.

Below are the colours I used for the rest of the layers:
Flower (1)
1st Layer – Pink Diamond
2nd Layer – Rubellite
3rd Layer – Razzleberry
Centre 1st Layer – Citrus Burst
Centre 2nd Layer – Honey Drizzle
Centre 3rd Layer – Paper Bag

Flower (2)
1st Layer – Pinkalicious
2nd Layer – Razzleberry
3rd Layer – Grapevine and Jet Black
Centre – same as above

Leaves (1)
1st Layer – Minty Mint
2nd Layer – Just Green
3rd Layer – Evergreen

Leaves (2)
1st Layer – Sweet Leaf
2nd Layer – Hunter Green
3rd Layer – Evergreen and Jet Black

I then fussy cut the images. Next, I placed the Frilly Frame Die on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine.

To create the background, I placed the Honeycomb Stencil on an A2 cardstock and held it in place with my washi tape. I then inked it with Azurite Crisp ink using my ink blending tool.

After that, I smooshed Azurite Crisp ink on my craft mat and splattered it on the card panel. I also splattered Jet Black ink using the Watercolour Brush Marker from the Winter Wonderland Set.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea Outline Stamp Set on the card panel using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Lastly, I assembled the card and stuck it on an A2 card base using precision glue.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you so much for joining me today. Have a fabulous day.
