“May Flowers” Challenge at Mayday Made It

I love flowers and having flowers as the subject is something I really enjoy working with be it while making cards or clicking pictures. Needless to say, when Tracy informed us that this week will be the “May Flowers” Challenge for the Maymay Made It Instagram Design Team, I was overjoyed! I had a million ideas flooding through my mind, but finally, I decided to settle on this one.

I used the Maymay May It Power Flowers Stamp Set to go along with the theme. I stamped the flowers and leaves using Versafine Onyx Black ink on a sheet from Canson Watercolour pad and then fussy cut each of the stamped images with Cutter Bee scissors. I also stamped the bee from the Jar of Fun Stamp Set using the same supplies and fussy cut it. Once I was done with the cutting, I coloured the images with Zig Clean Brush markers. To create a glittery effect for the bee’s wings, I used Clear Wink of Stella.

For the base, I die cut a cardstock from Canson XL using the largest die from the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine die set. I then smooshed some Evergreen Bough Distress Ink on my Ranger sticky mat and sprayed some water on it using my Mini Mister. After this, I pressed the watercolour cardstock on the ink and let it dry naturally. I repeated these steps till I was happy with the colour on the cardstock.

After the cardstock was dry, I stuck the flowers, leaves and bee on it and stamped the sentiment from the Maymay Made It From All of Us Stamp set. Finally, I stuck the cardstock on to the Neenah Solar White card base and the floral themed card was ready!

I have listed the products I used below. Thank you for visiting my blog.
