Christmas in July: Joy To The World
For this week’s Christmas in July card, I made a card with the sentiment “Joy to the World”. I wanted to add a few Christmas elements to the sentiment, and for this, I used four stamp sets by Maymay Made It.
For the background, I cut a Distress Watercolor Cardstock with the second largest die from the Infinity Rectangle dies by Hero Arts. Next, I coloured it with Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. After that, I lined the alphabets from the Alpha Bold Stamp Set on my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and stamped them using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. I then used the Winter Scattered Flakes stencil by Memory Box and texture paste to add snow to the background. Since I wanted the snow to be glittery, I sprinkled Crystal Glitter by Stampendous on the texture paste, dusted off the excess and let it dry.
I then started working on the Christmas elements I wanted to add to the card. First, I stamped the snowman from the Winter Wonderland Stamp Set on a sheet from Canson Watercolour pad using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. After that, I stamped the flower from Power Flowers Stamp Set once using Evergreen Bough Distress ink and twice using Fired Brick Distress ink. Then, I stamped the Christmas tree and the wreath from the Memory Lane Stamp Set using Evergreen Bough and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks. I stamped the bow using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Then, I fussy cut all the images using Cutter Bee Scissors and coloured the snowman and flowers using Zig Markers.
Once I was done with the colouring, I stuck a few glitter flakes on the wreath and the tree using my QuickStik. I also stuck a small star sequin on the Christmas tree. Next, I started working on making the Poinsettia. First, I used an embossing tool to give texture to the three flowers I had stamped and fuzzy cut. Then, I layered these cut-outs on top of each other to form the poinsettia and put a drop of Mercury Glass Distress Stickles in its centre
The background was dry by now, so I assembled the card. I first stuck the snowman, Christmas tree, wreath and the poinsettia on the background and then stuck the panel to a white sheet that I had cut using the largest die from the Peek A Frame die set by Mama Elephant.
As a final step, I stuck this panel to a white A2 top folding card base.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
