Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey there! Welcome back to my blog! I hope you are having a beautiful day. I am super thrilled to join Altenew for the Color Therapy Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should be arriving here from the talented Preeti’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.

Project 1

First, I stamped the image from the Paint-A-Flower: Rosa Floribunda Outline Stamp Set using Embossing Ink on an A2 Kraft cardstock. Next, I sprinkled pure white embossing powder on it, dusted off the excess, and heat set it.

After that, I coloured the image using the White Woodless Colouring Pencil. Then I die cut a rectangle from a masking sheet and stuck it to the card panel. I then inked the edges using Jet Black ink and an ink blending tool.

Next, I used the Black Woodless Colouring Pencil to add shadows around the rectangle. I then unmasked the image and stamped the sentiment from the Whirlwind Flowers Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink.

Project 2

I started by stamping the flower from the Exotic Tulips Stamp Set on an A2 watercolour cardstock using Frosty Pink Crisp Dye Ink. Then I stamped the leaves and stem using the Minty Mint Crisp Dye Ink. Next, I coloured the image using the Watercolour 36 Pan Set along with the size 2 round Artists’ brush. Below are the colours I used:
Flower – Pink Diamond, Puffy Heart, Midnight Violet
Leaves and stem – Frayed Leaf, Emerald

After that, I added details to the flower using UltraViolet Fine Tip Pen and Ruby Red Woodless Colouring Pencil. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Fancy Greetings Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Next, I roughly cut a masking sheet and masked the centre portion of the card panel. I then used the Dotted Diamonds Stamp Set, inked it using Obsidian Pigment Ink and stamped the frame on the card front. Lastly, I stuck this card panel on an A2 card base using precision glue.

  1. your top rose card is stunning. really makes you look at it, I love the way it stands out. I seem to have better luck with pencils and an aversion to markers. I feel markers are too dark and I can’t correct my mistakes. they scare me. I like the use of the colors also.

  2. Hi Joylita! Both of these cards are stunning! The roses look absolutely amazing done in the white! They pop right off that Kraft paper! Love the ink blending around the frame of the roses so much too! The tulip card is gorgeous and so realistic! Love the way you framed the tulip with the rough cut paper mask before adding the black dotted stamp! Inspirational ideas! Thank you for sharing and inspiring me!
