Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to my blog! It’s time for the new Craft-a-Flower reveal! I’m so excited to join Altenew for the brand new Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should be arriving here from the awesome Ardyth’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.

First, I die cut the flowers and buds using the Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock Set. Below are the cardstock colours I used for the different layers:
Flowers:
Layer 1 – Paper Bag
Layer 2 – Buttercream
Layer 3 – Warm Sunshine
Layer 4 – Caramel Toffee
Layer 5 – Just Green

Buds 1 and 2:
Layer 1 – Caramel Toffee
Layer 2 – Buttercream
Layer 3 – Just Green / Hunter Green

Buds 3 and 4:
Layer 1 – Paper Bag
Layer 2 – Warm Sunshine
Layer 3 – Just Green / Hunter Green

After that, I used precision glue to assemble the flowers. Then I die cut the leaves from Green Meadows Gradient Cardstock Set.

Next, I placed the Garden Trellis Cover Die on Jet Black cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine. I then embossed the sentiment from the Paint-A-Flower: Anemone Outline Stamp Set on Jet black cardstock using white embossing powder.

Then I assembled the card and splattered white gouache on the entire panel using a round brush. Lastly, I stuck the sentiment on the panel and stuck this panel on an A2 card base.

  1. Great idea not to make all the flowers and buds from the exact same colors of paper — and the arrangement is really Spring-like and lovely.

  2. Beautiful card. Reminds me of the mini snow storm we had a few weeks ago covering the spring flowers. The black trellis really sets it off. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Such a lovely and bright card. I love the feeling of the flowers growing up the trellis background.

  4. This card caught my eye on the Altenew page promoting the blog hop! Love everything about it, the lush arrangement, the trellis, the spatter. Thanks for the inspiration.

  5. Beautiful card Joylita! All the elements fit perfectly together. The pretty buttercups stand out among the lush greenery, thanks for the inspiration!

  6. I have the trellis die but had not thought of using black cardstock! It really makes the images stand out!

  7. Wow! What a striking, bright, colorful card! The trellis and black splatters add that extra rich touch!

  8. Oh my goodness I am so glad to finally find this AMAZING Card on the hop! I kept seeing it in the preview of the release and on different blog pages here and there; it is truly MAGNIFICIENT! Just stunning and I really like the bold colors mixed in with the subtle black garden trellis die!!! JUST AMAZING and I wish I knew you in person so I could get stunners like this in the mail!
