AAA Cards Challenge #183 – One Corner

Hello, my crafty friends. Welcome back to my blog. We have a new challenge at the AAA Cards Blog, and the theme for challenge #183 is One Corner + Optional Twist Create a Scene.

Chrissie is the Guest Designer for this challenge. You can click here to visit her blog and see her stunning card.

First, I stamped the flower and the bee from the My Monthly Hero January 2021 Kit on an A2 Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock using Memento Black ink. Then I stamped them on a masking sheet, fussy cut them and masked the images on the card panel.

I wanted to create a hexagon bokeh effect in the background so, I used the hexagon die from the same kit, placed it on a masking sheet and ran it through my die cutting machine. Then I stuck these die cut hexagons on the background. After that, I inked the panel with Lucky Clover and Pine Needles Distress Inks along with my blender brushes. Next, I randomly removed a few of the hexagons and inked them using Lucky Clover Distress ink and Citrus Burst Crisp Ink. I repeated this process several times till I unmasked and inked all the hexagons.

To add more dimension to the background, I splattered water on it and dabbed the excess using a paper towel. I also splattered white gouache on the panel using a size 2 round brush.

Next, I unmasked the images and used my Copic Markers to colour them.

Below are the colours I used:
Flower – R89, R27, R08, R05, R02, R00, 100, E59, E57, E55, G29, G19, G14, YG13, YG11
Bee – Y35, Y08, Y06, Y02, Y000, 100, Y21, E30, 0

After that, I stamped the sentiment from the same kit using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Lastly, I stuck this panel on an A2 card base.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for joining me today. Have a wonderful day.
