AAA Cards Challenge #177 – Maxi White Space
Welcome to my blog, my crafty friends. We have a new challenge at the AAA Cards Blog, and the theme for challenge #177 is Maxi White Space + Optional Twist Stars.
Sue is the Guest Designer for this challenge. Click here to visit her blog and see her amazing card.
To create the mask, I die cut an A2 sheet of Masking Magic by Gina K Designs using the smallest die from the Stylish Stars Frame Cuts by Hero Arts. This die is no longer available. If you wish to purchase a similar die set, I have linked the Point Stars Infinity Dies by Hero Arts here and in the supply list below.
Then, I used the above mask and masked an A2 card base. After that, I stamped the snowman from the Home for the Holidays Stamp Set using Memento Black ink and the Christmas trees from the My Monthly Hero October 2020 using Antique Linen Distress ink.
Next, I masked these images and placed the Drifts & Hills Stencil to mask the ground. I then inked the sky using Blueprint Sketch, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot Distress Inks along with blender brushes by Taylored Expressions. To create the stars, I splattered white liquid watercolour using a round brush.
After that, I inked the ground using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and a blender brush. Then I unmasked the images and used my Copic Markers to colour them.
Below are the colours I used:
Star – Y06; Polychromos – 111, 105, 108, 107, 169
Snowman – N3, N1, N0, 0, R39, R27, R24, T7, T5, T3, T1
Small Christmas tree – E25, YG13; Polychromos – 159, 278, 266, 112,
Christmas tree – YG13, E29, E27, E25; Polychromos – 159, 278, 266, 112
Shadows in the snow – BV02, B02, B000
Lastly, I unmasked the card panel and stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Messages Stamp Set by Mama Elephant using Obsidian Pigment Ink.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.

I’m amazed at how you got a little scene inthere, it’s fabulous and all neatly contained
This is the most amazing and creative use of a star I’ve seen. You are such a talented crafter Joy!
I just love mini scenes and the fact that you got yours within the star for this challenge…wow!
Your card is very inspiring and totally gorgeous!
I love this card so much! That tiny scene in the star is such a clever idea and so beautifully executed! Stunning card! I totally agree with Jane – you are such a talented crafter!
PS I have been wanting to pop in to comment from the moment I saw it on the DT gallery, but life has been crazy!
