For today’s card, the below image from the March 2019 Altenew Challenge was my inspiration.
I started by die cutting a piece of Canson watercolour paper using the Cross Stitch Canvas Die by Altenew. Then I masked the edges using Memo Tape by Heffy Doodle and coloured in the centre using Firefly, Grass Field, Shadow Creek, Hunter Green and Just Green Crisp Dye Inks by Altenew along with the Life Changing Blender Brushes. I then splattered water on the background using my Distress Water Sprayer and dabbed off the excess with a paper towel.
Next, I die cut several pieces of roses and leaves using the Garden Picks 3D Die by Altenew. I coloured one set of roses using Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Dye Inks and the other set using Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze and Firebrick Crisp Dye Inks. I coloured a few leaves using Firefly, Grass Field, Shadow Creek and Warm Sunshine Crisp Die Inks and a few of the leaves using Hunter Green, Just Green and Sweet Leaf Crisp Dye Inks. I then assembled these pieces using art glitter glue.
Since I wanted to emboss the sentiment, I used the embossing powder bag on a piece of black cardstock to remove any static. After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Reason to Smile Stamp Set by Altenew using VersaMark ink, sprinkled white embossing powder, dusted off the excess and heat set it with my heat gun. Then I cut them into thin stripes using my trimmer.
Next, I placed all the die cut pieces on the cardstock, and once I was happy with the placement, I stuck them to the panel. After that, I used foam tape to stick the sentiments on the card. Lastly, I stuck this panel on an A2 top folding card base.
