For the Guys

Hello and welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card I made for the AECP course – For the Guys. In this course, Jennifer Rzasa gives tips and tricks to make masculine cards. If you struggle with making cards for the men in your life, then I recommend you to try this course.

I started by placing the lighthouse stamp from the Be a Lighthouse Stamp Set on my Misti. Then I inked it using Memento Black Ink and stamped it on an A2 Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock. After that, I stamped this image on a masking sheet, fussy cut it and masked the image on the card front. Next, I used memo tape and masked the sky. I then used Turquoise Crisp ink along with a blender brush to colour the water. Then I stamped the details in the water using a stamp from the same set. To stamp the details, I used Tide Blue and Starlight Crisp inks.

After that, I masked the water and created a circle mask for the sun. To colour the sky, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks along with a blender brush. Next, I used a round brush and splatted white liquid watercolor all over it. Once the background was dry, I unmasked the sun and coloured it using Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Abandoned Coral Distress inks. Then I unmasked the stamped image and coloured it using my Copic markers.

Below are the colours I used:
Lighthouse – N5, N3, N1, 0, R39, R29, R24
Trees and shrubs – G19, G17, G14
Road – E57, E55, E53, E18

Next, I stamped then the sentiment from the same stamp set using Obsidian Pigment Ink and cut it into a thin strip using my trimmer.

To create a frame for the card, I die cut a piece of cardstock using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Frames Die set. I die cut this one more time and then stuck both the frames together to create dimension. After that, I stuck it on the card front. Then I stuck the sentiment on it using art glitter glue and stuck this panel on an A2 card base.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
