Floral Wreath

Hey there! Welcome back to my Blog. Today for my project for Maymay Made It, I used the Garden Party Stamp Set. I love the variety of flowers and leaves in this stamp set. For a while now I have been wanting to make a wreath and have also been fascinated by everyone using rainbow colours in their cards. So, I decided to try to make a floral wreath card using rainbow colours. I did not, however, use the colours in the order they are supposed to be.

I started off by cutting sheets from the Canson Watercolour pad in 3 different sizes. I then stamped the flowers and leaves on the smallest layer of the mat using Distress inks (I have listed the colours in the supply list). For the sentiment, I decided to go for a gradient look with Blueprint sketch and Wilted Violet Distress Inks. I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to stamp the sentiment which made it easier to stamp on the right spot.

I decided to distress the sides using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and Nuvo Blender Brush. I love the amazing texture you can get with this brush. I recently purchased this brush and I cannot stop using it in my projects.

I felt there was something missing in the card, and so I decided to splatter some colour on it. When in doubt splatter is always the answer.😋 I smooshed some Blueprint sketch Distress Ink on my craft mat, sprayed some water with the Tim Holtz Distress sprayer and used my Winsor and Newton size 4 brush to splatter the colour on the entire card. I then followed the same process with Wilted Violet Distress Ink.

Since I did not have black cardstock, I used VersaFine Onyx Black Ink to colour the sides of the second largest mat. Once this was done, I stuck all the layers on top of each other and then stuck them to a card base. And that was it, wouldn’t you agree that it was quite a simple card to make?
