Superboy card for the Superkids

The Male Room challenge I participated in the last time was so much fun that I couldn’t wait for their next challenge. When they announced the new challenge, a card for little boys, I had so many ideas going through my mind. To be honest, it was a tough choice to zero down on a card, but finally, I decided to make a Superhero card for the Superkids ❤️ (because who doesn’t like superheros right 😋). I used the SuperBoys stamp and die set by CrafTangles and the Cityscape die set by Mama Elephants for this card.

Let’s get started. First, I stamped the Superboy on a Canson XL Mix Media paper and die cut it using the coordinating die. Then, I coloured the image using Zig Markers.

For the background, I used Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks and used a blending sponge to give it a gradient effect. After that, I used the Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil by MFT along with white pigment ink by ColorBox to give a texture to the background. After wiping off any excess ink with a paper towel, I removed the stencil.

I die cut a few skyscrapers using the Cityscape die set by Mama Elephant and coloured them using VersaFine Onyx Black. To create the lights, I coloured a few post its using Mustard Seed Distress Ink and stuck it behind the die cuts.

I then stamped the sentiment on a paper that I had coloured using Mustard Seed Distress Ink. To make it look like the Superboy was holding it, I stuck the Yellow Embroidery Floss that I coloured using the same distress ink behind the sentiment piece. After I pierced the hand of the Superboy, I put the thread through it and stuck the other side of the thread behind the sentiment piece.

Finally, I assembled the card. I stuck the buildings that I had die cut one on top of the other, making sure that they didn’t overlap. After this, I stuck the Superboy along with the sentiment. I stuck this on a black mat, which I then stuck on a card base.
