Altenew Whimsical Wonder Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to my blog! It’s time for the April release and I am so excited to join Altenew for the Whimsical Wonder Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Release Blog Hop. You should be arriving here from Jenny’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.

Project 1

I started by stamping the cup from the Tea For Two Stamp Set on an A2 watercolour cardstock using Embossing Ink. Then I sprinkled antique gold embossing powder on it, dusted off the excess and heat set it. After masking it, I repeated the above step to stamp the cup and teapot.

I then masked them and inked the top portion of the card panel using Pumpkin Pie and Sicilian Amber Crisp Inks along with my blender brushes. I then smooshed these inks on my craft mat and splattered them on the background. I also splattered Jet Black Ink on it. After unmasking the images, I used the Pumpkin Pie and Sicilian Amber Crisp Inks and a round detail brush to colour them. Next, I used the coordinating stencil to lightly ink the images using Pumpkin Pie Crisp Ink along with an ink blending tool.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Obsidian Pigment Ink and stuck this panel on an A2 card base.

Project 2

For this card, I stamped the outlines from the Scalloped Ornaments Stamp Set on Neenah Solar White cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink.

Then I stamped the rest of the layers using the below Crisp Dye inks:
Flower 1:
1st LayerFresh Lemon and Orange Cream
2nd and 3rd LayerCoral Bliss and Vineyard Berry
4th LayerPink Pearl
5th LayerCitrus Burst
6th LayerFirefly and Just Green
7th LayerHunter Green

Flower 2:
1st LayerCoral Bliss and Vineyard Berry
2nd LayerFresh Lemon and Orange Cream
3rd and 4th LayerPink Pearl and Coral Bliss
5th LayerFirefly and Just Green
6th LayerPink Pearl
7th and 8th LayerFirefly and Just Green
9th LayerHunter Green
10th LayerHeart Beat

Next, I die cut these images using the coordinating die set.

After that, I die cut the vase from Neenah Solar White cardstock using the Mod Vases Die set. Then I inked one side of the Ornamental Feature 3D Embossing Folder using Ultramarine Crisp ink, placed the vase in it and ran it through my die cutting machine.

To create the background, I inked one side of the Enchanting Vines 3D Embossing Folder using Limestone Crisp Ink. Then I placed an A2 cardstock on it and embossed it. Next, I stuck the washi tapes from the Fall Harvest Slim Washi Tape Set on a cardstock strip and stuck it on the card panel. I then assembled the card and stuck the panel on a card base.

Project 3

First, I stamped the image and the sentiment from the Dreamy Cat Stamp Set on an A2 Neenah Solar White cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Then I sprinkled clear embossing powder on it and heat set it. Next, I masked the image and inked the edges using Starlight, Desert Night and Jet Black Crisp Inks along with my blender brushes.

After that, I unmasked the image and inked it using the coordinating stencil. Below are the colours of the Crisp Dye inks I used:
CatSilver Stone
MoonFresh Lemon
Blanket and pillowHeart Beat

Lastly, I stuck this card on an A2 card base.

Project 4

I decided to make a quick CAS card using the Tie Dye Motifs Stamp Set. For card 1, I stamped the images using Fresh Lemon, Autumn Blaze, Sunray, Frosty Pink, Citrus Burst and Vineyard Berry Crisp Dye Inks

For card 2, I stamped the images using Firefly, Grass Field, Wisteria, Starlight, Sea Breeze and Ultraviolet Crisp Dye Inks

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Obsidian Pigment Ink.

Project 5

For my last card, I used the stamp from the Folk Art Stamp Set and embossed it on an A2 red cardstock using antique gold embossing powder. Then I inked the edges using Grapevine and Jet Black Crisp inks along with my ink blending tools. Next, I coloured the image using a white colour pencil and a white gel pen.

After that, I embossed the sentiment on a strip of red cardstock from the same stamp set using gold embossing powder and inked the edges using the above inks. As the last step, I stuck the card panel on an A2 card base.

  1. Wow! You really nailed this release.
My favorites are the tie dye cards. They take me right back to the shops on Haight Asbury with the racks of tie dye shirts in the windows.

  2. I love the way you interpreted the tie-dye stamp! The colors are truly traditional tie-dyes! I also like the Folk Art card. The colors you used are very much what I would think of if I were looking at Scandinavian folk art. You have done a fantastic job on all of the cards and have given me a lot of inspiration to use. Thanks so much.

  3. All of your cards are lovely! The gold embossing on red is quite stunning. And love the inking on the kitty card; so pretty & purr-fect!

  4. The tea card, and the Folk Art card really stand out!!!! The red is amazing! And the tea is very pretty

  5. Wow! The colors are just flat out amazing and these cards are so bold and one of a kind. So much inspiration and I thank you for that.

  6. Ok, these are some great cards you have made here. There are lots of points worth mentioning but to narrow it down to one: The colors on your napping kitty card are amazing! Excellent job all around.

  7. These are all fabulous, but I really love the red card and the color combination on your floral vase card!

  8. Wonderful cards! My favorite is the mod vase and colorful flowers and the textured, embossed background. Just awesome!

  9. Such creative and colorful cards you have given us today! Love seeing some of the new products in bold glorious color! Thanks for sharing with us.

  10. The first monochromatic design is just spectacular, such a lovely range of cards with these supplies. My fave is that napping kitty, so sweet.

  11. Oh wow! Your cards are masterpieces! Stunning! Sensational! I love the blended background of card #1 and #3. I was blown away by the beauty and colors of card #2. And if that wasn’t enough, the last card with the red and gold is my favorite. Thank you very much! You are incredibly talented. Also thank you for the detailed information.
