Altenew Educators’ “Clean and Simple” Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway

Hey there! Welcome back to my blog! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I am thrilled to join Altenew for the Educators’ “Clean and Simple” Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway. You should be arriving here from the talented Rosie’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.

First, I stamped the image from the Build-A-Flower: Laelia Layering Stamp & Die Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink on an A2 Neenah Solar White cardstock. Next, I used the below Crisp Dye inks for the rest of the layers:
Flower:
A2
– Pastel Sunrise, Coral Bliss
A3 – Heart Beat
A4 – Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Jet Black
A5 – Fresh Lemon
A6 – Ruby Red
A7 – Jet Black
Leaves and stem:
B2
– Fresh Lemon, Just Green, Hunter Green
B3 – Evergreen
B4 – Sweet Leaf, Just Green

Note: For the layers with 2/3 different inks, I stamped the image first using the lighter ink. Then I applied the darker ink on the stamp set and blended it with my ink blending tool before stamping it. This technique helps me to get more depth in my stamped images.

After that, I added a few details on the flower using the Woodless Colouring Pencil. I then added shadows on one side of the image using Moon Rock Colouring Pencil. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the This is Your Day Stamp Set using Industrial Diamond and Pure Graphite Crisp Dye Inks. Then I stamped the shadow using the Obsidian Pigment Ink.

To create the frame, I masked the flower and the sentiment using a masking paper. Next, I placed the Henna Square Stencil on one side of the card panel and used a washi tape to hold it in place. After that, I inked the cardstock using Starlight Crisp Ink and the ink blending tool (small). I repeated the same process on the opposite side of the panel. For the other two sides, I used Hydrangea Crisp Dye Ink along with an ink blending tool.

Lastly, I unmasked the images and stuck this card panel on an A2 card base.

  1. What a beautiful card using the flower image and the coloring is gorgeous! The stenciling showcases the focal image so well too!

  2. The colors you chose really make this flower look amazing—it brings out the beauty of it perfectly!!
