Altenew Educators “Alphabet Name Game” Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway
Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! I am super thrilled to be a part of my very first blog hop as an Altenew Educator. The theme for this hop is “Alphabet Name Game”, wherein we had to use the first letter of our name, pick a theme/technique and create our projects! I decided to use the Joseph’s coat technique to make my card. You should be arriving here from the amazing Virginia’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.
Joseph’s coat Technique uses clear embossing over a bright background to reveal the colours when a dark colour is applied over the top of the inked panel.
I started by inking an A2 white cardstock using Razzleberry, Rubellite, Pinkalicious, Volcano Lake, Lagoon and Emerald Crisp Dye Inks along with my blending brushes.
While this panel was drying, I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock using the Simply Thank You Die and inked it using Rubellite and Volcano Lake Crisp Dye Inks. To add more dimension to the sentiment, I die cut it two more times from white cardstock and stuck the pieces together using precision glue.
After that, I prepped the background using an embossing powder bag to get rid of any static. Then I stamped the image from the Pen Sketch Mandala Stamp Set using Embossing Ink, sprinkled clear embossing powder on it, and heat set it.
Next, I inked the panel by dragging the Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink pad directly over the card front. As the embossed area resists the ink only the non-embossed area of the card panel is coloured black, this helps to bring out the bright coloured background. Then I wiped any excess ink on the embossed portion using a microfiber cloth. Lastly, I stuck the sentiment on the card front and stuck this panel on an A2 card base.
