Altenew Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! It’s the first of August and that means it’s time for another Build-A-Flower: Release by Altenew. I am so excited to join the Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should be arriving here from the amazing Erin’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.

First I stamped the outline of the images from the Build-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Layering Stamp & Die Set on a sheet of white cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Then I used the below Crisp Dye inks for the rest of the layers:
Flower 1:
1st Layer – Heart Beat and Vineyard Berry
2nd Layer – Vineyard Berry, Grapevine and Jet Black
Flower 2:
1st Layer – Heart Beat and Grapevine
2nd Layer – Grapevine and Jet Black
Flower 3:
1st Layer – Crimson and Velvet
2nd Layer – Vineyard Berry, Grapevine and Jet Black
Flower 4:
1st Layer – Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious and Rubellite
2nd Layer – Razzleberry and Jet Black
Flower 5:
1st Layer – Rouge and Crimson
2nd Layer – Vineyard Berry and Jet Black
Centres of all the flowers:
1st Layer
– Fresh Lemon
2nd Layer – Snapdragon and Caramel Toffee
Leaves 1:
1st Layer
– Fresh Lemon, Bamboo and Grass Field
2nd Layer – Grass Field, Mountain Pine and Jet Black
Leaves 2:
1st Layer
– Fresh Lemon, Parrot and Caramel Toffee
2nd Layer – Moss and Paper Bag
Leaves 3:
1st Layer
– Fresh Lemon, Parrot, Caramel Toffee and Grass Field
2nd Layer – Moss, Paper Bag, Jet Black

Note: For the layers with 2/3 different inks, I stamped the image first using the lighter ink. Then I applied the darker ink on the stamp set and blend it with my ink blending tool before stamping it. This technique helps me get more depth in my stamped images.

Next, I die cut the images using the coordinating die set.

I then cut a piece of cardstock to 3 1/2 * 8 inches and inked it using Just Green Crisp Dye Ink along with an ink blending tool. Then I splattered Hunter Green ink on this panel using a round brush. Next, I die cut a piece of black cardstock using the Linear Crossroads Die and stuck it randomly on the card front.

After that,  I embossed the sentiment from the Build-A-Flower: Coneflower Layering Stamp & Die Set on a piece of Jet Black cardstock using white embossing powder. Lastly, I assembled the card and stuck the panel on a card base using precision glue.
