AECP Level 1 Final Challenge

Welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! Today I am sharing the cards I made for the AECP Level 1 Final Challenge. For my cards, I followed tips and tricks from the Easy Ink Blending Techniques, Let It Shine and Clean & Simple Boutique Cards courses from the Altenew Academy. I made two sets of cards with different sentiments, one set has Masculine cards, and the other has Feminine cards.

Since I wanted similar backgrounds for both my sets, I embossed two Distress watercolour cardstocks using each stencil. Below are the stencils I used:
* Broken Chevrons
* Feathered Leaves
* Stone Wall
* Honeycomb
* On Point
* Sketched Lines

After embossing, I kept the stencil on the cardstock and inked one set using Aqualicious Crisp ink and the other one using Pinkalicious Crisp ink along with a blender brush.

To add more texture to the panels, I splattered water on all the card panels and dabbed off the excess with a paper towel. Next, I splattered white paint on the panels using a round brush.

After that, I used the Fine Frame Circles, Mid-Century Frame, Frilly Frame, Fine Frames Diamonds and Fine Frames Rectangles Dies to cut frames for all my cards. For the masculine cards, I used matte gold cardstock, and for the feminine cards, I used a gold mirror cardstock.

I have explained the detailed process for each of the cards below. Since I have added more elements to the Feminine cards, I will start by explaining the process for the Masculine cards of each set and then provide the additional details for the Feminine cards.

I started by stamping the outline of the cake from the Cake Love Stamp Set using Memento Black ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. For the second layer of this image, I inked the entire stamp using Iceberg and swiped the edges using Eastern Sky Crisp ink.
Next, I stamped the outline of the cupcake and the teacup cake stamps using Memento Black ink. I then inked the second layer of both the stamp set using Eastern Sky Crisp ink.

After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Pen Sketch Mandala Stamp Set on a piece of white cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Card 5
Masculine Card
For my 5th card set, I used a few stamps to create a bouquet.

Then I stamped the leaves from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink, Just Green and Hunter Green Crisp inks. Feminine Card

Then I stamped the rose image from the Remember This Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink, Frosty Pink, Ruby Red, Sweet Leaf and Hunter Green Crisp inks. Next, I stamped the Bountiful Branch Stamp Set using Sweet Leaf, Just Green, Hunter Green, Espresso, Evergreen, Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp inks. After that, I stamped the leaves from the Peony Bouquet Stamp Set using Sweet Leaf, Just Green and Hunter Green Crisp inks. Next, I used coordinating dies to cut the images that I had dies for and fussy cut the others. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Stone Mosaic Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink and cut them into strips. As the last step, I stuck the diamond frames I had die cut earlier and assembled the cards.

Card 6
Masculine Card
For this card, I stamped the moon from the To the Moon Stamp Set using cool greys – Limestone, Industrial Diamond and Pure Graphite Crisp inks. Then I stamped the earth from the Big World Stamp Set using Iceberg, Eastern Sky, Ultramarine, Just Green and Hunter Green Crisp inks.

Feminine Card
I used warm grey tones for stamping the moon – Morning Frost, Moon Rock and Lava Rock Crisp inks. For the Big World Stamp Set, I used Turquoise, Sea Breeze, Just Green and Hunter Green Crisp inks.
Next, I stamped the hearts from the Love Letters Stamp Set using Coral Berry and Ruby Red Crisp inks.

After that, I stamped the arrows from the Happy Dreams Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink. I then used the Hero Arts Circle infinity die to cut the moon and earth and fussy cut the other images. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the To the Moon Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink and cut them into strips. Then I stuck the circle frames I had die cut earlier and assembled the cards.

Gift Box
I wanted to make simple yet unique gift boxes for both of my card sets, and I wanted the receiver to see the cards through the box. So I decided to use cover dies to create the cover of the box.

For the top portion of the box, I the Light Pink and the Blue cardstocks to 7 * 8 1/4 inches using my trimmer. After that, I scored both panels at 1 inch on all four sides.

To create the lower portion, I cut both sheets of cardstock to 6 3/4 * 8 inches and scored both of them at 1 inch on all four sides.

Masculine Gift Box
I started by placing the Candy Cane Stripe Cover Die on the top cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine.
To protect the cards, I decided to use an acetate sheet, and since I strongly believe in recycling things, I used an Altenew stamp packaging and stuck it to the inner portion of the die cut panel using double-sided tape.
After that, I cut the 1-inch edge on all four sides of the top and bottom panels to create flaps. I then used art glitter glue to adhere the flaps to the inside of the panel to create a box.

Feminine Gift Box
Since the cardstock was Light Pink, I decided to create an ombre effect. I inked the edges using Pink Diamond and Pinkalicious Crisp Inks along with a blender brush.
Next, I placed the Circle Quilt Cover Die in the centre and ran it through my die cutting machine. Then I followed the same process as the masculine card to create the box.

That is the end of my super long post. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed making the cards and gift boxes.
