Addicted to CAS Challenge #199 – Beach
Hello there, my crafty friends. Welcome back to my blog. We have a new challenge at the Addicted to CAS Blog, and the theme for challenge #199 is Beach.
First, I placed the Polaroid Fun Die Set by Mama Elephant on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine. Next, I stamped the coconut tree from the My Monthly Hero February 2021 Kit using Memento Black ink. I then stamped this image on a masking sheet, fussy cut it and stuck it on the card. Then I masked the sky using memo tape and inked the sea using Tide Blue and Starlight Crisp Inks and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink with my blender brushes. Next, I inked the sand using Tea Dye Distress Ink.
After that, I dipped the tip of a rough brush in white gouache and dabbed it on the card panel to create the foam. Then I masked the sea and inked the clouds using the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Tide Blue Ink. Next, I smooshed Starlight Crisp Ink on my craft mat, sprinkled water on it, and used a round brush to splatter the ink on the sky to create more texture.
Then I drew the mountains using my Copic Multiliner Pen. After that, I unmasked the coconut tree and coloured it with my Copic Markers – G17, YG23, YG13, YG11, E59, E57, E55. To add dimension to the sand, I followed the stippling technique using my Copic Markers – E59, E57, E55. I then used the colourless blender and went over the stippling to soften it.
Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Spectacular Adventures Stamp Set by Altenew using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Lastly, I die cut the frame from Jet Black Cardstock using the Polaroid Fun Die Set and assembled the polaroid on an A2 card base using precision glue.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for joining me today. Be sure to visit this month’s challenge post for more inspiration from the design team. Have a lovely weekend.

I love the scene you created, Joy…. makes me want to travel!
All of your “dabbing”, “smooshing”, “sprinkling”, and “splattering” is beautiful, Joy – and I now have a couple of new technical art words to use! xoxo Fran
