AAA Cards Challenge #171 – Along The Edge

Hello there. Welcome back to my blog. We have a new challenge at the AAA Cards Blog, and the theme for challenge #171 is Along The Edge + Optional Twist Beach. For today’s card, I used the Summer Splash Stamp Set by Mama Elephant.

Vicky is our Guest Designer for this challenge, and you can see her stunning card on her blog.

First, I created a mask for the three images that I was planning to use in my card. Next, I stamped the sandcastle on an A2 Neenah Solar white 110lb cardstock using Memento Black Ink. I then masked it and stamped the elephant beside it. After that, I stamped the other elephant and masked it. Then I used Memo tape by Heffy Doodle to mask the top portion of the card panel. Since I wanted to ink the waves with a white pen, I stamped them in Turquoise Crisp Ink. Then I coloured the sea using Turquoise and Starlight Crisp Inks along with my blender brushes. I coloured the sand using Sand Dunes Crisp Ink.

After that, I unmasked the images and used my Copic Markers to colour them. Below are the colours I used:
Elephant 1 (standing) – C3, C2, C1, C0, R20, R00, BG49, BG13, BG23, BG10, R39, R27, R24, R22, R20, N2, 0; Polychromos – 232, 156, 225, 223
Elephant 2 (sitting) – C3, C2, C1, C0, R20, R00, G29, G19, G14, YG13, YG11, Y02, Y08, Y06; Polychromos – 232, 167, 108, 106
Sandcastle – E35, E33, E31, E50; Polychromos – 187
Details on the sand – E33, E31, E50

Then I used my Sakura White Gelly Roll pen to add details to the waves. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Hello & Hugs Stamp Set by Altenew using Obsidian Pigment Ink.

I am linking this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.

  1. The elephants are so adorable and your sea is just amazing. I can actually see the waves rolling in onto the beach. Rocked it Joy!

  2. Oh this is the cutest scene Joy and reminds me of the bucket and spade holidays we used to have when the children were little! The elephants are clearly having a wonderful time! Love the way you inked in your sea and sand. Vicky x

  3. So cute – I will have to persevere with masking – love the Copic colours and thank you for the list of the Copics you have used. I always find this helpful and inspiring for future projects xx
