CDD Creative Challenge – Stamped with Care
It is Creative Challenge week at Craftin Desert Diva’s and the theme for this week is Stamped with Care. Everyone needs that little nudge and knowing that someone is with you while you are sailing through tough times reduces the burden quite a bit. The design team will be giving you some tips and inspiration on making cards for people who are recovering or going through to a hard time so you can make a card using these tips for someone who needs a ray of hope. I decided to make two cards for this challenge.
First, I resized the images for both the cards and then printed, fussy cut and coloured them with my Zig markers.
Card 1: The Lord will Fight for you; you only need to Be Still.
First, I cut the sentiment using the smallest rectangle die from the Fancy Frames die set and distressed the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Next, I cut a sheet of Watercolour cardstock using the second largest die from the same die set. Then, I masked the lower part of the card using post-it notes. After that, I coloured it using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink in the centre. Next, I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink followed by Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink on the outermost edge of the card and I blended these colours in. Then, I moved the mask to the top part and coloured the ground using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I used a Dual Ended Blender Brush by Nuvo along with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink to create grass. I then stuck the image on this panel and added the shadow below it using Zig Markers.
Finally, I stuck this panel on a white A2 top folding card base and then stuck the sentiment panel on it.
Card 2: Get well soon.
For the background, I cut a sheet of watercolour cardstock into a 6 1/2 inches into 4 inches panel. Next, I masked the lower part using post-it notes and used Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to colour the background. I then sprinkled some water using my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and used a paper towel to dab off the excess. Once it was dry, I masked the top part and coloured the lower part using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I wanted to make it look like the critters were sitting on a wooden planked floor, and so, I used Baked Earth Derwent Inktense pencil to create the texture. Then, I used a Derwent waterbrush to spread the colour around.
Next, I stamped the Get well soon sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. After that, I stuck all the images on this panel, added the shadows using Zig markers and finally stuck the panel on a card base.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
