CDD Creative Challenge – Coloring for Non-Colorers
This week is Coloring for Non-Colorers Creative Challenge at Craftin Desert Divas. I had fun making this card.
I used the Christmas Candles Digital Stamp and changed the colour of the outline to light grey. Next, I printed the image thrice on a watercolour cardstock. I fussy cut one of the images using cutter bee scissors so that I could stick the coloured pieces on it. Then I applied Distress Stickles – Diamond to the melting wax portion of the candles to add texture.
From the second image, I fussy cut the poinsettia and the outer flames of the candles. Next, I cut the leaves, stamen, and the inner flames of the candles from the third one.
I used Candied Apple Distress Ink along with a mini ink blender to colour the poinsettia. To darken the edges, I used Fired Brick Distress ink. Then I outlined it with a red pen. After that, I coloured the leaves using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I outlined the leaves using a green pen. For the inner flames, I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and for the outer flames; I used Fossilized Amber Distress Ink along with a mini ink blender.
To create the background, I cut a piece of watercolour cardstock using the largest die from the Torn paper dies. Next, I coloured the area under the flames using Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and a mini ink blender. After that, I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, followed by Blueprint Sketch Distress ink for the edges.
Then I created a frame using a black A2 cardstock and the same die as above. Next, I stuck the frame and the inside panel on a black A2 card base using art glitter glue. After that, I started assembling the candle. First, I stuck the image I had fussy cut earlier on the background, followed by the leaves, the poinsettia, the stamen and the flames.
After that, I cut the word Blessed from the Greeting Word Dies using a White Glitter paper. I die cut the word two more times from a white cardstock and stuck the three die cuts together to add dimension. Lastly, I stuck it on the background.
