Craftin Desert Diva’s August Release Blog Hop

Hey there! Welcome to Craftin Desert Divas August Release Blog Hop Day 1. I am very thrilled to see you here!

I’m so excited about the new August Release! Crisp leaves, fall friends and more make this release absolutely darling. Once you’re done hopping, head over to the Craftin Desert Divas shop to snag your special discount – 5% off through 8/19.

For this hop, I made a card using the Outdoor Camping Digital Stamp Set.

I love star gazing and I find it really peaceful. I am sure most of you would agree that it is the perfect stress buster. This is the time when you can forget adulting and just relax. As kids, my cousin, sister and I had the opportunity to star gaze every day during our summer vacations! (Yes, we were pretty lucky right!). But unfortunately, as we grow up, we tend to get so preoccupied with all the tasks at hand that we don’t end up taking time out to do the things we love. Camping and star gazing by the lake is such a lovely experience; so peaceful and serene. And so, to remind each one of you to not be too hard on yourself and give yourself the break you deserve, for the August release hop at the Craftin Desert Diva’s Blog, I decided to create a card with a camping scene. A scene that represents those amazing memories I have and to relive those moments, and of course, remind myself that my camping trip is long due. 😊

First, I printed the images and fussy cut them. Then, I coloured them using Zig Markers.

For the background, I used an A2 watercolour card stock, tore a masking sheet and stuck it on both sides. Then, I used Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Inks to colour the lake. I then masked off the lake and coloured the grass using Moved Lawn and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. To add texture to the grass, I used the Pine Needles Distress Ink with a Nuvo Blending brush and dabbed it on the background.

Since I wanted to have a starry sky, I created a galaxy background using Candid Apple, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. Then, I splattered some Copic Opaque White Ink on it using a brush.

Once the background was ready, I stuck the images and the sentiment on it. After that, I stuck a few star sequins randomly in the sky for a sparkling starry effect.✨

Finally, I stuck the panel on an A2 top-folding card base. I hope this card makes you want to pack your bags and get out on your camping trip right away. 😉
