Creative Coloring with Erum
Hello and welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! Today I would like to share a card I made for the Creative Coloring with Erum Course by Altenew Academy. In this course, Erum shares her tips and tricks on how she makes her gorgeous cards and I have always been a big fan of her work. Especially the drip technique that she uses on her card. I have learnt so much from this course and I definitely recommend you to do it if you want to take your colouring to the next level.
Initially, I had decided to do another course as my last one but due to a few unforeseen circumstances, I didn’t manage to complete it. Then when I won Erumโs class in a giveaway on her Instagram page I knew this had to be my last course. I really enjoyed doing this course and you will surely be seeing more of the techniques I learnt in my future cards. Erum is extremely talented and has always been so encouraging in my AECP journey with her incredibly motivating comments and I will always be grateful that she took time out to leave amazing comments on my blog.
I started by stamping the images from the Poppy Garden Stamp Set on a sheet of Altenew Watercolour Pad using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Then I sprinkled Crystal Clear Crisp Embossing Powder on it, dusted off the excess and heat set it with my heat gun.
Next, I fussy cut these images and used my Watercolor Brush Markers – Spring Garden and Winter Wonderland Sets to colour them.
For the flowers I used, Ruby Red, Midnight Violet, Rubellite, Citrus Burst and Autumn Blaze Watercolour Brush Markers and for the leaves I used, Emerald and Citrus Burst Brush Markers. To colour the centre of the flowers, I used Jet Black, Emerald and Mountain Mist Watercolor Brush Markers.
Once these images were dry, I splattered Jet Black Watercolor and diluted White Gouache on them using my round brushes.
To create the background, I used a wet brush to wet the A2 watercolor paper and create the drips. Then I used Emerald, Limeade and Mountain Watercolor Brush Markers to add colour to the wet portion of the card panel. Once this panel was dry, I splattered Jet black and Emerald Watercolor on it.
After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea Outline Stamp Set on this panel using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Lastly, I assembled the card using precision glue and stuck this panel on an A2 card base using foam tape.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you so much for joining me today. Have a fabulous day.
