Color Your Day
Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I would like to share a card I made for the Color Your Day Course by Altenew Academy.
In this course, Therese Calvird shares some great tips on how to be inspired by the colours we see around us. Also, she explains how to use the colour wheel and different ways to add colours to our projects. I found this course very helpful, as I often struggle with colour combinations.
For my card, I used the picture from the August Challenge as inspiration as I havenโt made any cards with this combination before. I also followed the sketch from this challenge.
I started by masking an A2 cardstock using memo tape and then placed the Stone Wall Stencil over it. Next, I inked it using Industrial Diamond Crisp ink along with a blender brush. Then I removed the stencil, smooshed Pure Graphite Crisp ink on my media mat, sprayed water on it and then splattered it on the background using a round brush. I then removed the tape and let the panel dry. To make the white portion of the panel look dimensional, I used my Polychromos – 233 to add shadows on both sides.
After that, I stamped the hydrangeas from the Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea Outline Stamp Set on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock using Memento Black ink. I stamped this image twice and used my Copic markers to colour them.
Below are the colours I used:
Flowers – BG13, BG32, BG11, BG10, BV00
Leaves and stem – G28, G07, YG25, YG23, YG11
I then added details on the images using my Polychromos pencils – 156, 101, 138 and fussy cut them using my cutter bee scissors.
Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Best Sentiment Stamp Set on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink and used my trimmer to cut it to a thin strip.
Lastly, I assembled the card panel and stuck the sentiment using foam tape.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
