Clean and Simple Masculine Card using Cool Beans stamp by Avery Elle

Who doesn’t love coffee! It’s our go-to comfort drink. What’s life without coffee, right? Though I am not a hardcore coffee drinker, the aroma of the coffee beans always lifts up my mood. My husband, on the other hand, just can’t do without coffee. He needs a cup as soon as he wakes up, and so, I decided to make a clean and simple masculine card using Avery Elle stamps for him.

The process for the card is as follows:

First, I cut a watercolour cardstock using the Peek a frame die by Mama Elephant. Then, I stamped the coffee cup, coffee beans, steam coming out of the cup and the sentiment, all from the Cool Beans stamp by Avery Elle, on the cardstock.

I stamped the steam with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink and the cup, sentiment and coffee beans with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Also, it goes without saying that I used Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for stamping the images and sentiment.

I then coloured the image using Zig Clean Brush Markers and Derwent waterbrush. Since I wanted a gradient effect on the cup, I coloured the left edge with Mid-Brown (065) followed by Beige (072), and then, using the Derwent waterbrush I spread the colour to the entire cup. I followed the similar process for the lid and shadow of the cup, only changing the strokes from vertical for the lid to horizontal for the shadow. I used the same colour, Light Grey (091), for both the lid and the shadow. Finally, I coloured the coffee beans with Dark Brown (062).

The last step is to stick the cardstock on the card base.

That’s it! You are done. Pretty simple right! Just like how coffee makes our lives simple 😉
