CDD May Challenge – Card 1

Welcome back to my blog! This month’s challenge at the Craftin Desert Divas Blog is Thankful For Spring. I made a card using the Friendship Stamp Set.

I started by cutting a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock using the third largest die from the Stitched In Circle Dies. I then die cut the leaf wreath using a die from the same set. I die cut it one more time from white cardstock as I wanted to add dimension to the card. Then I placed the die cut panel in my stamp platform and stamped the image from the Friendship Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink. After that, I used my Copic Markers to colour the images and the die cut panels.

For the sentiment, I die cut a piece of black cardstock by Hero Arts using the smallest rectangle die from the Fancy Frame Dies. I then prepped the cardstock with Embossing powder bag to remove any static. Next, I used my stamp platform to stamp the sentiment from the Friendship Stamp Set using VersaMark Ink, sprinkled white embossing powder on it, dusted off the excess and heat set it.

Quick Tip: If there is stray embossing powder after heat setting, you can remove it with a craft knife. You can also use a black marker to colour it.

To create the background, I used an A2 Neenah Solar White cardstock and masked the edges. Then I placed the Moroccan Tile Stencil on it and inked it with Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks along with a blending brush. I then unmasked the panel and assembled the card. As a final step, I stuck the panel on an A2 card base.

I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
