Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Cistus Layering Die Set & Gradient Cardstock Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello and welcome back to my blog! It’s time for the new Craft-a-Flower reveal! I’m super thrilled to join Altenew for the brand new Craft-A-Flower: Cistus Layering Die Set & Gradient Cardstock Release Blog Hop + Giveaway. You should be arriving here from Virginia’s blog, but if not, you can go back to the start, at the Altenew Card Blog and go from there.
Project 1
For my first card, I inked the watercolor cardstock using Crisp Dye Inks and then die cut it using the Craft-A-Flower: Cistus Layering Die Set. Below are the colours I used for the different layers:
Flowers-
Layer 1 – Pink Pearl
Layer 2 – Coral Bliss
Layer 3 – Heart Beat
Layer 4 – Vineyard Berry
Layer 5 – Citrus Burst, after die cutting this layer I used a detailed ink blending brush and applied Snapdragon and Caramel Toffee Crisp Dye Inks.
Leaves-
Layer 1 – Firefly
Layer 2 – Shadow Creek
Layer 3 – Evergreen
I then assembled the flowers and leaves using precision glue. You can also use Double-sided Adhesives Sheets and adhere it to the cardstock before die cutting it.
To create the background panel, I started by prepping an A2 Jet Black Cardstock using an embossing powder bag to remove any static. Then I masked the lower portion of the card and stamped the background from the Dotted Diamonds Stamp Set using Embossing Ink, sprinkled antique gold embossing powder on it and heat set it. Next, I embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set using antique gold embossing powder. After that, I stuck Golden Trim Washi Tape on the card panel. Lastly, I stuck the flowers and added Antique Gold sequins to add a little more sparkle to the card.

Project 2
For my second card, I used the new Gradient Cardstock Sets – Coffee Break, Rose Petal and New Purple. Below are the cardstock colours I used for the different layers:
Flowers 1 (Craft-A-Flower: Cistus Layering Die Set):
Layer 1 – Andromeda
Layer 2 – Ultraviolet
Layer 3 – Deep Iris
Layer 4 – Wisteria
Layer 5 – Jet Black
Flower 2 (Garden Picks 3D Die Set):
Layer 1 – Puffy Heart
Layer 2 – Purple Wine
Layer 3 – Cosmic Berry
Leaves 1 (Craft-A-Flower: Cistus Layering Die Set):
Layer 1 – Expresso
Layer 2 – Mocha
Layer 3 – Rocky Shore
Flower 2 (Garden Picks 3D Die Set):
Layer 1 – Expresso
Layer 2 – Mocha
After that, I used precision glue and assembled the flowers and leaves. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Build-A-Flower: Coneflower Layering Stamp & Die Set on a strip of white cardstock using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Then I stuck a strip of Expresso cardstock below it. I then splattered Jet Black Ink on an A2 card base. As the last step, I assembled the card panel and stuck the sentiment using foam tape.

Oohhhhh….you can’t go wrong with gold embossing powder! Such a gorgeous effect that has behind the flowers! It makes it seem like the flowers are popping off the page! Plus, thank you for sharing all the ink colors you used for each flower layer ❤️
Both of your cards are beautiful, but the first one is absolutely stunning! It’s my favorite card so far on this blog hop.
Such beautiful cards! I love the black and gold background of the first card. 🙂
Black and gold is such a classy palette, and the red makes the florals pop on your first card. Purple and brown is not a palette I’d ever think to use, it’s really pretty.
