Christmas in July – Layout Challenge
This week is the Layout challenge week at Maymay Made It. Since this is the first time I have participated in a layout challenge, I was super excited about it.
I started by embossing red and green card stocks using the Sizzix 3D Winter Snowflakes embossing folder. Then, I applied Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink to the raised area by following the drag technique. (If you would like to know more about this technique, you can click here to view Maymayโs video where she has beautifully explained the process.) Next, I applied Diamond Distress Stickles over the snowflakes for a little Christmas sparkle.โจ
While the background was drying, I drew the snowman, fussy cut it and coloured it using my Zig Markers.
For the golden glitter strip, I cut a piece of heavy card stock and applied VersaMark ink on it. Then, I sprinkled my favourite Metallic Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter by Wow Embossing, dusted off the excess and heat set it.
Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Winter Wonderland Stamp Set using my Tim Holtz stamp platform and cut it using the Tim Holtz trimmer. I then cut the edges using my Cutter Bee scissors to make it a fishtail banner.
Finally, I assembled the card. First, I stuck the white cardstock to the card base. Then, I stuck the red and green cardstock, which I cut down to fit the card, on it followed by the golden strip. Lastly, I stuck the snowman and the sentiment strip on it and my card was ready.
