Altenew Educators’ “Colourful Carnations” Video Hop + Giveaway
I am joining the Altenew Educators’ “Colourful Carnations” Video Hop + Giveaway. If you would like to join the hop, please visit my Youtube Channel.
I placed the flower stencil from the Build-A-Garden: Grand Carnations & Add-On Die Bundle on an A2 Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and inked it using Citrus Burst Dye Ink along with a mini blending brush. Then I repeated this process 6 more times with different Crisp Dye Inks – Orange Cream, Heart Beat, Minty Mint, Tide Blue, Ultramarine and Hydrangea.
Next, I coloured the first layer of the stem using Forest Glades Dye Ink. I masked the flowers while inking to avoid overlapping the images. This also helps to create more depth as some flowers appear to be in the front and some at the back. I repeated this process with all the flowers. Then, I inked the second and third layer using Just Green Dye Ink.
After that, I splattered Jet Black and Titanium white watercolour on the card front.
I then die cut the flowers and leaves from Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock using the coordinating die set. Next, I stamped them using Permanent Black Ink and used the below Artist Alcohol Markers to colour them:
Flower petals:
Purple Petals – Wisteria, Hydrangea, Ultraviolet and Andromeda Artist Alcohol Markers from the Water Garden (Set G)
Blue petals – Iceberg, Eastern Sky, Ultramarine and Azurite Artist Alcohol Markers from the Island Garden (Set H)
Yellow petals – Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow and Honey Drizzle Artist Alcohol Markers from the Sunshine Valley Garden (Set F)
Red petals – Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Heart Beat and Vineyard Berry Artist Alcohol Markers from the Island Garden (Set H)
Orange petals – Sunkissed, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze and Firebrick Artist Alcohol Markers from the Tropical Garden (Set E)
Leaves and Stems – Minty Mint Sweet Leaf, Just Green and Hunter Green Artist Alcohol Markers from the Island Garden (Set H)
I die cut the sentiment from Neenah 110lb cardstock using the coordinating die from the Build-A-Garden: Daisy Crown & Add-on Die Bundle and followed the same process to stamp it as the flower and leaves.
Next, I die cut the frame from Jet Black cardstock using the Diamond frame cover die. I stuck it on the carnations background and then stuck the card panel on an A2 card base.
After that, I stuck another layer of white die cuts behind all the die cut pieces including the sentiment strip. Then I die cut them from black cardstock as well and offset them a little when sticking them, to create a shadow effect.
Lastly, I stuck the rest of the images and sentiments on the card front.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I look forward to seeing you next week!
Until then, live creatively and spread the joy of handmade art. ❤️
