Encouragement Card Hop

Hello there, my crafty friends! Welcome to my blog. Today, some of my talented crafty friends and I have decided to create cards to support, encourage and inspire each of you in our crafty family. I do hope you check the amazing work of the rest of the crafters and show them some love.

Let’s start with the process of my card.

First, I stamped the image from the Build-A-Flower: Cattleya Stamp Set by Altenew on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock using Jet Black, Rouge, Crimson, Velvet, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Dye Inks. Then, I die cut it using a coordinating die.

For the background, I used an A2 Distress watercolor cardstock and masked the edges using the memo tape by Heffy Doodle, and then, I coloured it using Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire Distress inks along with a blender brush. Next, I splattered water on the panel and dabbed off the excess using a paper towel. I also splattered Perfect Pearls (Pearl) and White Liquid Watercolor on the background using my round brush. Then, I smooshed Chipped Sapphire Distress ink pad on my media mat and splattered the ink on the background.

Next, I die cut a piece of black cardstock using the Essentials: Pretty frames 2 Die by PinkFresh Studios. I used one of the die cut pieces to create a frame for my card.

Since I wanted to emboss the sentiment, I prepped a piece of black cardstock using an embossing bag to remove any static. Then, I stamped the sentiment from the Reason to Smile Stamp Set by Altenew using VersaMark Ink, sprinkled white fine detail embossing powder, dusted off the excess and heat set it with my heat gun. I then cut them into thin strips using my Trimmer.

After that, I stuck the background panel on an A2 card base. Next, I stuck the flower to the frame. Since I wanted to add dimension to the card, I stuck the frame and the sentiment using black foam tape. For the flower, I used white foam strips by Darice.
