Christmas Craft Creations September Challenge – Shaped Card
Hello, and welcome to my blog. We have a new challenge at the Christmas Craft Creations Blog, and the theme for the September Challenge – Shaped Card.
Trina is our Guest Designer for this challenge. Click here to see her stunning card.
I started by die cutting a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock using the die from the Ornamental Die Set by Concord & 9th.
Next, I stamped the critters from the My Monthly Hero October 2018 Kit on the die cut cardstock using Memento Black Ink and masked them. Then I stamped the Christmas tree from the My Monthly Hero November 2019 Kit and masked it. I used the Drifts & Hills Stencil by My Favorite Things to mask the ground.
Then I inked the sky using Wild Honey, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany Distress inks along with Blender brushes by Taylored Expressions. Next, I splattered the Yellow Gold watercolour from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors using a size 2 round brush.
I then die cut the cap of the ornament from a piece of Arches watercolour paper using the Ornamental Die Set and coloured it using the Yellow Gold watercolour from Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors and stuck it on the card panel.
After that, I unmasked the images and used my Copic Markers to colour them.
Below are the colours I used:
Mouse – N5, N3, R20
Cat – C3, C0, R20, R00
Dog – E29, E15, E13, E11, E000, C9, C7
Deer – E39, E33, E31, E30, E00, 0, R20, R00
Christmas Tree – G28, G17, G14, YG13; Polychromos – 112, 166, 167, 267
Star – YR24, Y08, Y02
Snow – BV00, BG11, BG10, B00
Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set by Hero Arts using Obsidian Pigment Ink.
To create the card base, I die cut another card panel using the die from the Ornamental Die Set and scored it at 1/2 inch using my Scor-Pal. I then stuck the card panel on it using art glitter glue.
