Cards in Motion
Hello there! Welcome to my blog! Today I would like to share a card I made for the Cards in Motion Course by Altenew Academy. In this course, Ashley Tucker showcases fun and creative ways to make interactive cards. I had a lot of fun doing this course and I am so happy to share my first shaker and string spinner card.
To create the shaker portion, I used the Dog Rose Panel B Die and die cut it from the Ruby Red, Coral Berry, and Frosty Pink papers from the Gradient Cardstock – Red Cosmos Set. I repeated this process one more time since I wanted the shaker to be on both sides of the card panel. I then stuck these pieces together to create 2 panels.
For the base of the shaker, I coloured two pieces of 3 6/8 * 2 5/8 inches watercolour panels using Coral Berry and Frosty Pink inks. Once they were dry, I splattered the inks on the panel for more texture. Then I stuck the above die cut panels on these watercolour card bases.
After that, I die cut the Dog Rose Panel A Die from Grapevine twice and cut a piece of Acetate to 3 6/8 * 2 5/8 inches using my trimmer and stuck it behind them using precision glue.
I then added Pink, Light Yellow and Maroon microbeads to the shaker panel and stuck the die cut pieces from the Dog Rose Panel A Dies on it.
Next, I placed a rectangle die in the centre of an A2 cardstock and die cut it. Then I used this panel as a reference and die cut the rectangle from an A2 card base.
I then lightly inked the A2 cardstock using Grapevine Crisp Ink and a blender brush. Once this panel was dry I stuck the Peachy Tiles Washi Tape on it and cut off the excess.
To assembled the card panel, I stuck foam tape on the A2 cardstock. Then I placed a thread in the centre of the A2 card base and stuck the A2 cardstock on it. Next, I placed the shaker panel in the centre, with the right side facing down. Then I applied glue to the other panel and stuck it on top of it. I decided to add the sentiment to the inside of the card panel.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you so much for joining me today. Have an amazing day.
