AAA Cards Challenge #164 – One Image
Welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! Today we have a new challenge at the AAA Cards Blog, and the theme for challenge #164 is One Image + Optional Twist Inspired by TV.
For this challenge, we have the amazing Jasleen as our Guest Designer. You can click here to visit her blog and see her adorable card.
The TV show Greyโs Anatomy has been my all-time favourite series, and it was the inspiration for my card. This show made me admire all the hard work the doctors put in, and it has stayed with me ever since. Now, when we are in the midst of a pandemic, our healthcare professionals are at the forefront fighting the battle, and I am grateful for their service. In addition to the healthcare workers, there are so many other professionals who are working day in and day out to ensure the smooth running of society amid this crisis. So, even though my card only has an image of a doctor, I would like to dedicate it to all the coronavirus warriors. I am also grateful to all the people who have understood their social responsibility and are doing their bit by staying at home. You all are heroes! Kudos to you!
If you feel anxious and worried, remember we are all in this together and even though everything does seem daunting now, I am certain that we will sail through this, and come out on the other side of this pandemic stronger than before. Sending hugs and positive vibes your way to get you through these tough times. ๐ค
There have been so many kind people who have been helping each other during these trying times, and one such example in our Card Making community is My Favorite Things, who are giving away free digital copies of four of their stamp sets on their blog. I have used stamps from two stamp sets for making this card. The image is from the Doctor’s Orders Stamp Set, and the sentiment is from the Super Hero in Scrubs Stamp Set. You can download these from the My Favorite Things blog, however, if you would like to purchase the clear stamps, I have linked them in my supply list below.
I wanted to make a one-layer card, and since the images are in a PDF file, I first cropped the image. Then, I placed it in a 4 1/4 * 5 1/2 inches file in Photoshop. While using digital stamps, having a file the size of my card helps me to better plan the scene. Next, I cropped the sentiment and added it to the file. However, I wanted it quite close to the doctorโs image, and since the white background of the sentiment was covering up the image, I used the eraser tool and carefully removed it. Then, I printed the scene on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock and cut it to 4 1/4 * 5 1/2 inches using a trimmer. After that, I used my Copic Markers to colour the image.
Below are the colours I used:
Skin – E11, E00, E000, E0000, R20
Hair – E37, E33, E31; Polychromos – 283, 103
Scrubs – B97, B95, B93; Polychromos – 2847
Coat – N1, N0, 0; Polychromos – 233, 231, 230
Stethoscope – N1, N0, 0
Shoes – C10, C7, C5, C3
Clipboard – C7, C5, C2, C00, 0
Paper – C2, C00, 0
Shadow – N3, N2, N0, 0; Polychromos – 233, 231, 230
Lastly, I stuck this panel on an A2 card base using precision glue.
Thank you once again for doing your bit in this pandemic and for reading my long post. Take care and stay safe.โค๏ธ
