Altenew Sewing Contest 2020
Hello, and welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! Today I would like to share an embroidery design that I made for the Altenew Sewing Contest.
I have loved embroidery since I was a kid, however, I haven’t managed to do any embroidery since school. Whenever I would see some gorgeous embroidery, I did feel tempted to try but I would also be a little intimidated by it. When I saw Altenew’s Challenge I knew I had to get out of my comfort zone and try my hands at embroidery. I have enjoyed this challenge so much and I am very glad I gave it a try. I have already planned my next pattern well who am I kidding, I even have a few Christmas designs in mind. Guess what my family and friends are getting this Christmas! 😋
I love creating night sky scenes while making cards, so I decided to try it with my embroidery pattern as well.
First, I stamped out the images from the Camp Life and Mini Moon Stamp Sets on to Eclipse masking sheet using Memento Black Ink. Next, I fussy cut it with my cutter bee scissors. After that, I stamped the images a piece of black cloth using a fabric friendly ink pad.
Note: I stamped the images in the foreground first using my Misti, masked them and stamped the rest of the images.
I used size 9 needles along with embroidery floss by DMC, Anchor and Cosmo.
For the stars, I used the Satin White Sequins along with a few seed beads and Swarovski crystals.
Lastly, I cut the cloth around the hoop and stuck it using my hot glue gun.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
