Easy Ink Blending Techniques
Hello and welcome to my blog, my crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card I made for the Easy Ink Blending Techniques AECP course. I was inspired by the August 2019 Challenge picture at the Altenew blog to make my card.
First, I stuck the Botanical Rhapsody Washi Tape on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, and fussy cut the images with my cutter bee scissors. Then I coloured them using my Copic Markers.
Below are the colours I used:
Flowers – RV04, V06, YR04, Y06
Leaves – G17
A card that Amy Lee shared in the Easy Ink Blending Techniques was an inspiration for my background. I have created bokeh backgrounds before, but her technique is so unique, I decided to try it on this card, and I am very happy with the result. I started by inking an A2 Canson watercolour cardstock using Mountain Pine, Shadow Creek and Grass Field Crisp inks along with a blender brush. After blending the background, I took a sponge dauber and used the above three inks to create a bokeh effect. I started by inking the dauber with the lightest ink and then randomly stamping and twisting it on the cardstock. I repeated this step with the other two inks. Once I was done, I stuck a thin strip of black cardstock behind this panel.
After that, I prepped a piece of black cardstock using my embossing powder bag to remove any static. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Sentiment Strips Stamp Set using VersaMark ink, sprinkled white embossing powder, dusted off the excess and heat set it with my heat gun. I then cut it to a thin strip using my trimmer.
Next, I stuck the small flowers and leaves using art glitter glue. I stuck them only in a few places to create a natural look. Then I stuck foam squares behind some flower petals and a few leaves to create dimension. After that, I stuck the big flower and the sentiment using foam tape. I then stuck this panel on a card base. Lastly, I added clear drops on the big flower and green drops on the background.
I have listed the products used below. Thank you for visiting my Blog.
